Self-assessment PPGLA

The self-assessment process the Graduate Program in Languages and Arts carries out follows the recommendations outlined by the 2019 CAPES Working Group Report, which establishes that the self-assessment of Graduate Programs must entail:
º The monitoring of the program’s quality and its formative process;
º The production of knowledge: political, educational, economic, and social impact and performance.

The self-assessment process of the Graduate Program in Language and Arts at UEA has been in place since 2018, even before CAPES' recommendation. In 2020, self-assessment was formalized as a regulated practice by the State University of Amazonas through Resolution No. 338/2020-GR/UEA, published in the State Official Gazette.

During the 2021–2024 quadrennium, the program’s self-assessment committee worked in collaboration with the program’s coordination team, faculty, technical staff, and students to evaluate the program’s structure, actions, strategies, and goals, aiming to improve the quality of education and to support the development of the program’s expansion project (the opening of a doctoral program).

In this regard, the Committee worked continuously to implement the Program’s strategic planning, in coordination with the program leadership, academic board, and working groups established around specific themes—such as internationalization, visibility, social impact, and alumni tracking. These bodies, composed of faculty, staff, and student representatives, were essential to the functioning of the Program and were guided by the principles of Ethical Conduct, Collectivity, Transparency, Efficiency, Purpose, Awareness, Complementarity, and Effective Results.
The IV PPGLA Self-Assessment Seminar, held in 2024, had its results discussed at the I General Seminar on Self-Assessment of UEA Postgraduate Courses.
